Sergio Ramos is supposed to be resting up on holiday after Spain’s World Cup heartache – but his latest activity will have got his pulse racing.
The centre back is currently on holiday with his family and having rented a yacht, he did what most young men would do when confronted by a high ledge and a body of water.
However, rather than the straightforward jump-in approach, Ramos decided to add his own level of difficulty, performing a backflip from the top deck of the boat.
In a clip that will have had new Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui watching between his fingers, the 32-year-old launched himself backwards into the water.
Clearly pleased with his efforts, and glad to have evaded any injury, Ramos posted the video on his Instagram, along with the message: ‘The dive of the summer!’, although this was more Tom Daley than Neymar.
The defender has already posted a number of picture from his holiday with long-term partner Pilar Rubio and young sons Sergio Ramos Jnr and Marco as he fits in a break away before reporting back to Madrid.
The Real Madrid squad are due to report back for pre-season on Tuesday, but players involved in the pre-final stages of the World Cup, such as Ramos, are not due to report back until July 27, according to AS.
They are due to take part in the International Champions Cup, and will travel to Mexico and the US, where they will face FC Puebla, Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus and Roma.
Ramos has already paid tribute to his former Real team-mate following his Serie A move, but he will not have to face him on the field just yet according to reports, which suggest the Portuguese star will sit out the exhibition match.
