Cristiano Ronaldo has used his time back in England to catch up with an old friend, posting a snap alongside legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Juventus forward starred in his side’s 1-0 Champions League victory at Old Trafford, before spending some time with a club legend in Ferguson.

The Scot signed Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon in 2003, managing him for six years before he was sold to Real Madrid for a then-world record fee of £80million.

Writing on Twitter alongside the picture, Ronaldo said: ‘A great coach and above all a wonderful man. Taught me so many things inside and outside the pitch.’
