Mohamed Salah has won the Puskas Award at the FIFA Football Awards, beating Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Bianconeri’s record signing was nominated for a goal against them in last season’s Champions League quarter-final, which drew a standing ovation from the Turin crowd.
Other nominees included Gareth Bale for his overhead kick in the Champions League final, and Lionel Messi’s goal for Argentina at the World Cup.
At tonight’s ceremony in London though, the prize was awarded to Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah for his curling strike against Everton.
The Egyptian is a former Roma player, but joined the Reds last summer for an initial €42m.
Juve Coach Max Allegri had been nominated for best Coach, but he didn’t make the final three and that prize went to France’s Didier Deschamps.
