Real Madrid i negotiation to bring the Argentinian striker

Real Madrid representatives are in Rome, Italy negotiating a deal for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, according to a report from Libertad Digital. Even though they are not a popular outlet outside of Spain, Libertad Digital are somewhat reliable when it comes to reporting news about Real Madrid and even their own writer Juanma Rodriguez contributes at Real Madrid TV.

Icardi is 25 years old and Madrid would need to spend quite some money to get a deal done, given that he had a release clause of €110 million which expired weeks ago. However, Los Blancos might need firepower upfront and Icardi could be a nice option to have on the squad.

It will be interesting to confirm whether this rumor actually gains traction or not as Real Madrid still have almost a month to complete a potential deal for Icardi. If Los Blancos consider that they need more goalscoring punch upfront, Icardi might indeed be on the top of their list given that other targets like Kane or Neymar will be too expensive to afford.
