With an average of 5.84 years spent at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid are the club with the most loyal players in Europe.

Los Blancos have maintained significant parts of their core over the last decade, as players such as Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema have already spent ten seasons at the Spanish capital.

According to a study, carried out by the International Soccer Observatory (CIES), Madrid top a list of 31 European clubs in terms of players’ loyalty, followed by Barcelona with an average of 5.36 years.

The Catalans are another example of a team that have managed to establish a certain backbone in the dressing room, since the Pep Guardiola era.

The two Spanish powerhouses are followed by Bayern Munich (5.26), Viktoria Pilsen (4.28) and Celtic (4.25), while Atletico Madrid and Athletic Club also feature in the top 10.

Parma and Caen are the least stable clubs in terms of loyalty, in an inverted table that also features Real Betis and Huesca in fourth and seventh place respectively.
