Real Madrid defender and captain Sergio Ramos has published in his Instagram account some photos of Luka Modric’s Golden Ball. He joked, hinting that he was expecting to win a Golden Ball.
After a decade of dominance by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the Ballon d’Or this year was won by Luka Modrici, who last season won the Champions League with Real Madrid and reached finals of the World Cup with the Croatian national team.
After winning the Golden Ball, Luka Modric returned to Tuesday’s training session at Real Madrid with this award, which he showed to his teammates.
Team captain Ramos joked in his Instagram account, where he posted photo with the Ballon d’Or he said he is also waiting for such a prize for him.
“And my Golden Ball, when?” Wrote Ramos over the picture published in his Instagram account.
The Spanish defender was part of the list of 30 candidates to win this prize, selected by the French newspaper’s editorial board, France Football. Following the jury’s vote, he ended up in the 19 th position on this list.
