Real Madrid are trying to figure out a solution for scoring issues

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent Mina Raiola has reportedly offered Los Blancos to sign the Swedish striker

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently out of action in the US, as his team, LA Galaxy has unexpectedly missed out on a playoff spot, meaning Ibrahimovic will only have the chance to play competitively again when the regular season restarts in March.

That means that the Swede might have extra-motivation to search for an opportunity to return to Europe. Moreover, the Independent claim that the striker’s agent Raiola has offered Real Madrid the chance to sign his client.

The report goes on to say that Raiola even spoke to Antonio Conte earlier this week about the possibility of signing Ibrahimovic if the Italian will take over at the Bernabeu. The super-agent has talked with the Real Madrid bosses separately, too.

Last Monday Cadena Cope broke the news that Real Madrid are considering an opportunity of signing Zlataт Ibrahimovic on a free deal in January as the Swede’s contract at LA Galaxy is soon to expire.

The outlet explains Los Blancos would be eager to find an immediate short-term solution for scoring issues which have seemingly appeared after Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit as Julen Lopetegui’s side have hardly avoided a fifth goalless game in a row against Levante on Saturday.

Since joining LA Galaxy in March, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has banged 22 goals and provided seven assists in just 26 appearances, doing it in his inimitable manner.

The forward is under contract in LA until December 2019 and so he can’t join on a free transfer, but it would not be an expensive or outright impossible operation for Florentino Perez, as a move for a world class player in his prime – like Neymar or Eden Hazard – would be.

On top of that, Zlatan’s salary is very low for a player of his calibre. Moving to MLS, the Swede took a 96% pay cut (as per AS) due to the club’s salary cap. As for now, he gets €1.5m per year, which ‘nothing’ for Madrid. Even the club’s lowest earners have a higher salary: Kiko Casilla, for example, is on €1.75m a year, while Lucas Vazquez earns €3.5m.
