Chelsea have officially completed the signing of Mateo Kovacic on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid.
Midfielder Kovacic was part of the Croatia squad which reached the final of the World Cup, but has always struggled for game-time at the Bernabeu since joining from Inter Milan three years ago.
He’s played 109 times for the club, scoring three goals.

A statement on Chelsea’s website read:
“We have tonight agreed terms with Real Madrid for the transfer of Thibaut Courtois, subject to the agreement of personal terms and a medical.
“As part of the deal, Mateo Kovacic will join Chelsea on a season-long loan.”
