La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Luka Modric will meet Florentino Perez on Friday to discuss his future at the club.
The Croatian returned to training on Wednesday after successful summer with Croatia and held an initial meeting with Real Madrid CEO Jose Angel Sanchez. The 32-year-old midfielder wants the club to grand him Inter Milan transfer.
It is believed that there is a ‘gentleman agreement’ between Luka and Perez. The president is willing to let the Croatian leave if he submits an official transfer request, similar to Cristiano Ronaldo pact. Modric currently has two years remaining on his deal with the Royals with his release clause standing at 750m euros.
Inter Milan reportedly agreed on a 10m euros-per-season four-year contract with the star midfielder. Furthermore, the Italians have planned Luka Modric’s future and included an option to join Chinese side Jiangsu Suning after four years in Italy. Inter’s major shareholders Suning Holdings Group own Jiangsu and have already sent a Nerrazurri player to Chine this summer: Italy international Eder has moved to Chinese Premier League in July.
Modric joined Los Blancos back in 2012 from Tottenham for 35m euros and has since established himself as one of the best midfielders in the history of the beautiful game. He won four Champions League titles with Los Blancos, 1 LaLiga and 1 Copa. The Croatian has most recently won the FIFA World Cup Golden Ball as his nation sensationally reached the final.
