According to journalist Juanma Castano from El Partidazo de COPE, Lionel Messi will attend the Copa Libertadores final between River Plate and Boca Juniors at Bernabeu, but Cristiano Ronaldo WILL NOT attend the match.

Earlier, Spanish media AS reported that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez invited both Messi and Ronaldo to attend the game and wanted them to sit together.

While Messi has confirmed to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) that he will be at the game, Ronaldo has yet to make a decision – and now COPE says that the Portugese star has decline the invitation.

The idea from Perez and RFEF is that both players watch the clash side by side in the President’s box.

“The presence of Cristiano and Messi would be a wonderful message for football, and it would put both players in a setting where they deserve to be,” RFEF announced earlier.

However, it looks more likely that Ronaldo will not be returning to Bernabeu for the first time since his summer departure.
