Jose Mourinho will try to tempt Milan captain Leonardo Bonucci to Manchester United, claims Tuttosport.

According to Wednesday’s edition of the Turin-based newspaper, Mou has his heart set on Bonucci as the ideal reinforcement for his back line.

The centre-back turned 31 this month and had a difficult first year with the Rossoneri, at times feeling excessive pressure from immediately being named captain.

If he were to move on, Milan would need to make a profit, having paid €42m to sign him from Juventus only a year ago.

At the time, it was reported Bonucci wanted to leave Juve due to a row with Max Allegri and had been heavily linked with Chelsea for Antonio Conte as well as Real Madrid.

However, he didn’t want to leave Italy because his youngest son had very serious health issues.

Fortunately, Bonucci’s son has recovered and a Premier League switch is back on the cards.
