Jordi Alba has returned to the Spain squad for the first time in the tenure of Luis Enrique.

The public outcry coupled with the form of the defender have ensured that he deservedly takes his place in the squad once again.

In recent days, the coach and player built bridges towards a possible return and have finally reached a point of understanding that guarantees the presence of the man who many consider to be the best left-back in Spanish football.

Marcos Alonso will now give up his position to Lionel Messi’s partner in crime.

It is in defence where there are the most changes in the squad.

The weaknesses shown against England have forced the former Barcelona coach into making changes.

Diego Llorente is back after his recent injury, while Mario Hermoso appears for the first time as a reward for his fantastic performances this season, so much so that Real Madrid are considering bringing him back to the club where he was developed.

Nacho and Raul Albiol make way and Inigo Martinez returns to the fold.

Luis Enrique wants to shake things up and view the performances of even more players, having been worried about the defensive weaknesses on display against England, which is why he has reinforced in that area more than any other.

He is keen to see a response from his players after what happened in Seville.

In midfield, he has also introduced new players in the shape of Pablo Fornals and Brais Mendez, of Villarreal and Celta Vigo respectively.

The rest sees Sergio Busquets, Saul, Dani Ceballos, Rodrigo and Isco included by Luis Enrique.

Suso is also capable of assisting in that area, while Koke has not been included.

In attack, there are less doubts as Rodrigo, Iago Aspas, Alvaro Morata and Marco Asensio all appear to have the unwavering confidence of the coach.

Diego Costa remains out due to his poor form as a result of personal problems and injuries.
