Lopetegui in tears: Since my mother’s death, yesterday was the worst day in my life

Lopetegui was announced as Real Madrid coach, something that was planned to happen after the World Cup.

24 hours after being sacked from Spain, due to the agreement reached with Real Madrid, Julen Lopetegui was introduced to Los Blancos, replacing Zinedine Zidane.

“Since the death of my mother, yesterday was the sadest day in my life,” Lopetegui said, and then burst into tears, adding, “But today is the happiest day in my life.”
