Good news for Real Madrid two key return to training

Real Madrid returned to training on Monday following their disastrous defeat to Alaves, however Julen Lopetegui was boosted by the return of both Isco and Marcelo at Valdebebas.

14 players were absent from the session due to their international commitments, yet after missing the recent poor run of results through injury and illness respectively, Marcelo and Isco were once again working with the group.

The duo combined individual exercises in the gym with specific work outside on the pitch, and there remains every hope that both will be fully back in the team and match fit by the time the Clasico comes around in late October.

Kiko Casilla, Luca Zidane, Alvaro Odriozola, Marcos Llorente, Mariano Diaz, Lucas Vazquez and Sergio Reguilon all worked as a group on Monday with the former Porto coach presiding over the session.

Dani Carvajal and Karim Benzema appear to be two fresh injury worries for the Spanish coach as the pair underwent medical tests on Monday.

Carvajal has a problem in his right hamstring, whilst the French forward has been given 10 days off so that he can reach his physical peak by the time Los Blancos return to domestic action against Levante on October 20.
