Real Madrid star Ronaldo looks to be on his way to Turin having revealed he was considering a move in May. Juventus are prepared to hand over £88m (€100m) to secure the forward’s signature, with a mega £27m-a-year (€30m) deal already agreed.

Cristiano Ronaldo is seen as the final piece in the jigsaw as Massimiliano Allegri’s side seek to convert domestic dominance into Champions League glory. The latest reports from Italy claim the 33-year-old will be rewarded if he leads Juventus to their first European title since 1996.

According to Calcio Mercato, Ronaldo has already agreed to have a Champions League bonus in his Juventus contract. It is not stated how much the former Manchester United star stands to earn if Juventus achieve success in Europe. But the figures already involved in the deal suggest he will be remunerated handsomely for his efforts. Juventus’ desire to win the Champions League comes in the wake of two final defeats in the past five years – one of which came against Real.

Calcio Mercato indicate Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is working to convince Real to sell his client for £88m. Only when that has been agreed will Juventus slap in their bid for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. However, Real president Florentino Perez is said to be adamant Ronaldo makes his desire to leave public. Perez does not want to be remembered as the man who sold Ronaldo against his will. So he is eager for Ronaldo to make it clear he wants to call time on his nine-year stay at the Bernabeu.

Juventus chiefs are ready to fly to Madrid to tie up a deal as soon as they get the nod from Real, Ronaldo and Mendes. Mendes assured Juventus of Ronaldo’s intentions this morning, with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain waiting in the wings to pounce. And it seems to be a matter of time before the Portugal international secures his switch.
