But the figures already involved in the deal suggest he will be remunerated handsomely for his efforts. Juventus’ desire to win the Champions League comes in the wake of two final defeats in the past five years – one of which came against Real.

Only when that has been agreed will Juventus slap in their bid for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. However, Real president Florentino Perez is said to be adamant Ronaldo makes his desire to leave public. Perez does not want to be remembered as the man who sold Ronaldo against his will. So he is eager for Ronaldo to make it clear he wants to call time on his nine-year stay at the Bernabeu.
Juventus chiefs are ready to fly to Madrid to tie up a deal as soon as they get the nod from Real, Ronaldo and Mendes.
