Cristiano Ronaldo: Juventus star no longer wants THIS since Real Madrid exit

CRISTIANO RONALDO no longer cares as much for assists since joining Juventus from Real Madrid, according to Brazilian namesake Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been in blistering form in Serie A ever since quitting Real Madrid for Juventus back in the summer.

The Portugal international has scored 10 goals in Italian football to propel the Old Lady to the top of the league table, with Massimiliano Allegri’s side currently 11 points clear at the summit – albeit having played one game more than second-placed Napoli.

Many feel Ronaldo has matured into a prolific goalscorer, one who has the hunger to find the net with every outing.

During his younger years at Manchester United, long before his Juventus transfer, he would often weigh in with both goals and assists.

It was a similar story during his first few seasons at Real Madrid, before he became more prolific in front of goal.

And Real Madrid legend Ronaldo, who spent five years at the Bernabeu during his own playing career, thinks the Portugal international now wants goals more than assists.

“I do not want to say that ‘my time’ was more difficult, but we faced very different situations and with different teams,” he told Italian newspaper La Gazetta dello Sport.

“I would say we were different in the role we played, even if he now plays a lot more in the middle and closer to the goal.

“Perhaps in the past an assist satisfied him as much as a goal.

“Now, I don’t think it does. In that desire for goals we are equal, yes.”

Meanwhile, another Brazilian legend Rivaldo has hit out at Ronaldo not being awarded the presitigous Ballon d’Or award.

The Juventus hitman was beaten to the prize by former Real Madrid team-mate Luka Modric earlier this week.

And Rivaldo believes Ronaldo should have won the prize instead.

“It’s always tough to give your opinion about this subject,” he told Betfair.

Cristiano Ronaldo stats:

Serie A – 10 goals, five assists, from 15 matches.

Champions League – One goal, no assists, from four matches.

“Luka Modric had a great season in 2018, winning the Champions League and helping Croatia to be World Cup final, but if I had to choose, I would vote for Ronaldo.

“The Portuguese scored a lot of goals last season, won the Champions League – scoring a sensational goal against Juventus away from home – and proved his value at the World Cup scoring four times, including a hat-trick against Spain, so I believe that he deserved the award more than anyone else.

“And then, we also have Lionel Messi who should have been at least in the top three.

“Honestly, I can’t see why things have changed this time – removing the focus from Cristiano and Messi – because both of them had good seasons.”
