Cristiano Ronaldo hungry to meet Atletico Madrid once again

Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone may well rue the 0-0 draw away to Club Brugge on the final matchday of the group stage, a result which has led to the Spanish team being drawn against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus.

Ronaldo, formerly of Real Madrid, has caused a lot of agony over the years for Los Colchoneros’ supporters, particularly in the Champions League, and he has continued his goalscoring exploits in Italy.

It was always expected that Atletico would face a difficult draw as they could have come up against the likes of Paris Saint-Germain

Bayern Munich and Manchester City, as well as Juventus.

Drawing Porto would have been the dream scenario for Simeone, but instead Atletico must now begin preparing for the Italian giants as the first leg takes place at the Wanda Metropolitano, the venue of this year’s final.
