Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly joined Barcelona in the chase to sign Juventus midfield sensation Rodrigo Bentancur.

Bentancur has become one of Juve’s most important players since his arrival from Boca Juniors in 2017. This season, the Uruguayan has appeared 13 times in the Serie A, scoring twice and assisting once. He also came up with an impressive performance in Juve’s 1-0 win over Inter Milan yesterday.

Don Balon state that Chelsea are now interested in signing the midfielder, weeks after Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the 21-year-old Uruguayan.

It is said that Juve are still in disagreements with Boca Juniors about what would happen if a club does come into make an offer for him and signs him.

While Bentancur arrived in Turin in 2017, a deal for him was struck in 2015 as part of Carlos Tevez’s move to Boca Juniors. The agreement saw Bentancur and Tevez swap places, but a clause in his contract would see both clubs divide the transfer fees, if Bentancur gets sold.

Juve are not selling Bentancur at any cost right now, but they have to sort out the resale clause with Boca Juniors.
