BOOM: Juventus confirm that Ronaldo wants to join them

Sky Sport Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio confirms Cristiano Ronaldo has invited Juventus to make an offer to Real Madrid, so they are studying it.

The story first appeared in Tuttosport on Saturday night and has gained considerable traction over the last 24 hours, above all in Spain and Portugal.

Now Di Marzio has also said that the idea came from agent Jorge Mendes – who also represents recent Juve signing Joao Cancelo – and invited the Bianconeri to make an offer.

Juventus sources seemingly confirmed they are thinking about it, but the issue is not the €100-120m transfer fee from Real Madrid, but rather the pay packet he is commanding.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to earn €30m per year net and with Italian taxes, which are far tougher than in Spain, that would be €60m per year gross.

It is not entirely impossible and Juve are trying to balance the books to see how they can increase revenue to enable that cost.

One step has already been taken, as this summer the club significantly raised the price of a season ticket and this irritated fans.

Sponsors would also contribute to the salary and transfer fee to bring a Ballon d’Or winner to Turin.

This evening, Juventus director general Beppe Marotta said the Ronaldo story was “a suggestion,” but that doesn’t mean it is lacking truth.
