It was widely expected that Arturo Vidal would start in place of Ousmane Dembele against Tottenham on Wednesday night, however it was Arthur who ultimately took the Frenchman’s place as Ernesto Valverde packed the midfield.
Vidal was upset by this and posted an angry emoji on social media.
Although he later shared content celebrating the victory, during which he was substituted on, his initial emotion had already been revealed.
The Catalan club are not, however, worried about this reaction.
“It would be more worrying if he didn’t mind, it’s logical that he is upset,” was one comment to come out of the dressing room.
Those in charge at the club are playing down this online incident and they are pleased with how the Chilean has done when given a chance on the pitch.
They also know that he’ll get better and better, as he adapts to the team’s style.
