Casemiro has been impressed by his teammates following their return to training this week.

Zinedine Zidane’s squad returned to Valdebebas on Monday to continue their individual training routines.

“The work at home was very important and we did what the club and the coaching staff told us,” Casemiro told Real Madrid TV.

“People are working well and you can tell coming back that the players have done work at home.

“The physical part has been maintained and that is shown on the pitch.”

The squad will now ramp up their preparations ahead of a proposed return of LaLiga Santander in June.

“It’s not just an important step for football, but society too, in order to show people that it can be done,” Casemiro said.

“It’s not just about playing football, it’s about people being on the streets.

“I think that, if we comply with the measures we have to have, we’re going to be able to return.”

Casemiro also highlighted the need for solidarity in society during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’ve tried to help people as much as possible during such difficult times,” Casemiro said.

“Not only me, [but] the other players and Real Madrid have too – that’s the most important thing.

“It’s also [about] putting a smile on people’s faces in such a difficult time.”
