According to L’Equipe, PSG’s star duo will remain at the Parc des Princes this summer due to the adjusted market as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Neymar and Kylian Mbappé will remain at PSG beyond this summer despite links with moves to Barcelona and Real Madrid as a result of uncertainty surrounding the summer transfer market as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to reports in France.

Both the Brazilian and the France international are the source of constant speculation with Neymar agitating for a return to Camp Nou and Mbappé the object of Florentino Pérez’s desire to add another Galáctico to his squad. However, L’Equipe reports that the economic circumstances created by the coronavirus outbreak has played into PSG’s hands and both of their star forwards are set to remain in Paris for another season at least.

Mbappé, Neymar out of reach for Barça, Real Madrid

Mbappé is expected to sign a new deal at the Parc des Princes beyond the end of his current deal, which expires in 2022, but has reportedly asked that a clause be inserted allowing him to leave for Madrid or another European heavyweight. That will only increase his value and will place the France international out of reach of all but a select few clubs.

In Neymar’s case, Barcelona lack the funds to make a move for their former player despite all parties being open the idea. PSG are unlikely to part with their world record signing lightly and Barça will be forced to dig deep to make any transfer viable. PSG are also unlikely to be tempted to accept any Camp Nou deadwood as part of the exchange.
