Koke has explained that the derby between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid is a unique game for Diego Simeone’s players.
Los Rojiblancos haven’t won any of their last four games in all competitions, but their captain is certain that his teammates will give everything for the three points at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
“Whenever we play against the eternal rival it is special and we need to return [to winning ways] and get the three points,” he said.
“We are going to one of the most difficult grounds in the league with the maximum desire to take the three points at the stadium of the eternal rival.
“We are teams that respect each other very much and know each other very much.
“There are small details that can help you win the match.”
Thomas Partey, meanwhile, stressed that the fans’ desire for a win gives the players the motivation to fight for all three points against Los Blancos.
“We are united, we are working well and we always know that such a match against Real Madrid is special for the fans,” he noted.
“That helps us and motivates us to face the game with the highest concentration.
“It’s a game in which you have to be attentive, be better than them and be blunter.”
Felipe Monteiro agreed that his team have to be focused and avoid mistakes throughout the 90 minutes.
“I think that, above all, we must not concede goals, because that way we will be closer to victory,” he explained.
“[We also have to] score goals and take advantage of the chances we have, because it is not easy.
“We know that every game is different and a small mistake can be fateful.
“You have to take advantage of every second and the opportunities, because in a match like this you can’t make mistakes.”
