Joao Felix recently gives an interview with Portuguese press A Bola and Record over various topics.

Talking about the Golden Boy award, Felix said: “At the beginning of the year when talking to my brother I confessed that it was the prize I wanted to win. I tell him that with the talent he has, he can also win the Golden Boy. I do not exaggerate.”

“This prize is the first goal of distinction that not everyone has and that gives me more responsibilities, and it seems good to me, I think another Portuguese could win the prize, there is a lot of quality in the quarries and that translates into the national teams I don’t want to say names because I could leave someone and it wouldn’t be fair.”

Felix also shared his comment on Cristiano Ronaldo: “Cristiano is an idol of my childhood, an example in everything. I was a child and he was already the best in the world. He is unique. He is making history in football. I liked hearing what he said (Joao Felix is a phenomenon).”

“At 20 I can tell you that although the distance (between me and CR7) seems huge, it does not scare me.”

“I don’t know how my career will be but in normal conditions and without injuries, I see myself playing until I am 35 years old I hope that with motivation and in good physical conditions, my plans for the moment are not so long term, I like to plan things little by little, without losing my sense.”

“I am always asked the same thing (if you can reach the level of Cristiano) and I always answer the same thing: Cristiano is unique and unrepeatable. I just want to be Joao Felix.”
