Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has suggested that players who play for Real Madrid or Barcelona have more of a chance of winning the Ballon d’Or.
Cristiano Ronaldo was overlooked for the award for the second year in a row as Lionel Messi claimed the prize in Monday’s ceremony.
“It’s difficult to say if the Ballon d’Or was taken away from Ronaldo, but there’s no doubt that clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona have a lot of power,” Paratici said.
With Ronaldo not getting the recognition he feels he deserves, what does his future at Juventus hold?
“Will Ronaldo stay? Of course,” Paratici said.
The Portuguese forward has struggled with injury problems in recent weeks.
“It’s annoying because he’s competitive and his reaction says a lot about his spirit, his desire to be on the pitch,” Paratici said.
“He always wants to play and win everything.”
