Virgil van Dijk has confirmed he will travel to Paris on Monday evening as he attempts to outlast Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to win the Ballon d’Or.
Van Dijk will be in the French capital on Monday evening but says everyone at the glitzy ceremony is already a winner.
He said: “I am going to have a look at what it is about. I think there are no losers on that evening.
“I am very proud to be in that bracket, to be in there for the way I performed with the team last year and also with the country.
“It is just something to be proud of because not a lot of players go there and are up for these kinds of things.
“There are no losers that evening – we will see what happens.”
