Morata equals Griezmann’s best run

In the form of his life, Alvaro Morata has shown that he is the man to replace Antoine Griezmann and lead the attack for Atletico Madrid.

Just as Griezmann did last season, Morata has scored in his sixth consecutive game of the season, starting against Bayer Leverkusen before notching against Athletic Club, Alaves, Sevilla, Leverkusen again and now Espanyol.

Morata also gave the assist for Angel Correa’s equaliser against Espanyol on Sunday.

The No.9 also scored against Getafe on the opening day of the season and is Los Rojiblancos’ top scorer, four goals ahead of Joao Felix who has been sidelined for three weeks with an ankle injury.
