Barcelona’s clash with Eibar on Saturday is looming and Ernesto Valverde has some selection decisions to make, with the defence most troublesome.
1. Pique is suspended, so Lenglet needs a partner. Umtiti may return from injury, but Jean Clair Todibo seems most likely to play.
2. Jordi Alba and Junior Firpo are back from injury so could both be options to play. At right back he’ll have to choose between Nelson Semedo and Sergi Roberto – the former played 180 minutes for Portugal.
3. Arturo Vidal also played 180 minutes, as did Frenkie de Jong. Arthur played 68 and then 79 in Brazil’s two games.
4. Busquets only played in one game for Spain so could start. Rakitic (119 for Croatia) is also an option.
Up front the MSG – Messi, Suarez, Griezmann – attack looks set to continue. Ansu Fati is also an option after his Spain U21 debut.
