Belgium boss Roberto Martinez is delighted that he has been able to welcome back Eden Hazard for the upcoming matches against San Marino and Kazakhstan, following the Real Madrid forward’s absence in the last international break.

Strangely, rumours about Hazard’s fitness and weight continue to be discussed, and at Belgium’s pre-match press conference, Martinez decided to come to the defence of the former Chelsea star.

“I’m happy to see Eden with the group,” Martinez said.

“He’s smiling. He’s a world-class player, who is unique, talented.

“He is also very professional and, although he has already won trophies [in his career], he is reaching the highest point of his career.

“He takes great care of himself and, in my eyes, he’s not fat.”
