Real Madrid are going through a difficult period and with a battle against Sevilla ahead, Zinedine Zidane could do with Eden Hazard stepping up with a big display.

The Belgian has been able to make a smooth start to life in the Spanish capital due to a muscular injury which has kept him out for the better part of six weeks.

Hazard played some minutes against Levante and starting against PSG in midweek, but looked far from his best.

After the 3-0 defeat to the Parisians, the pressure weighs even heavier on Real Madrid to get a result and if there was anytime for Hazard to demonstrate his undeniable individual quality, Zidane will be hoping it is on Sunday.

At Chelsea, Hazard was the go-to man in tough moments, frequently popping up with solo displays to get his team out of trouble.

He scored 21 goals and made 17 assists last season which carried Chelsea through a tough campaign in which they just managed to squeeze into the top four, as well as win the Europa League.

That kind of influence is needed in a team which is failing to show coherence and fluidity in the final third.

An adjustment period is necessary for even the very best players but Madrid’s predicament cannot afford to wait too much longer for Hazard to start carrying the side.
