Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken about the time he tried to go to a night club in disguise in Madrid.
The Juventus forward told ITV about how he and a friend went out for New Year’s Eve in Madrid in 2009.
“I can’t go out to public places,” he said.
“I don’t have privacy. But in 2009 I said to my friend Ricky that I wanted to go out.
“It was New Year’s [Eve] and we couldn’t stay at home.
“We bought disguises and went to a club dressed as rockstars in the centre of Madrid.
“Everyone was looking at us strangely saying ‘where have these come from.’
“We decided that we were only going to speak in English. But one time I spoke Portuguese to Ricky: ‘what do you want to drink?’
“The one time in the whole night that we spoke Portuguese and a guy in front of my came up to me and said: ‘Cristiano, I know it’s you.’
“And I didn’t think it was possible, I didn’t react and I felt bad and annoyed.
“During the night this guy was saying to the whole club: ‘look, it’s Cristiano’.
“And I felt, as I’m a tall guy, that everyone in the club was watching me.
“We were there for three hours. It was one of the best nights of my life.”
