With four goals in a 5-1 Portugal victory over Lithuania, Cristiano Ronaldo has moved even closer to retired Iranian player Ali Daei’s international goals record of 109.

Ronaldo netted his 90th, 91st, 92nd and 93rd goals of his international career in Lithuania, netting a penalty for a handball provoked by Joao Felix in the first half before adding three more after the break.

It was the 54th time in his career that Ronaldo has scored at least three in a match – the eighth time he has done so for his country.

These were his first goals in Euro 2020 qualifying and now he’ll hope for some more during the upcoming international breaks as he chases down the 16 goals that separate him from Daei.
