Real Madrid ‘will launch an all-out effort to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain next summer’.

Having failed to sign Brazilian star Neymar from the Parisians this summer, Real will reportedly shift their focus to the 20-year-old French striker.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Real’s desire to sign World Cup w inner Mbappe meant they were always second favourites to Barcelona in the race to sign Neymar.

Sport adds that Real manager Zinedine Zidane has made Mbappe his No 1 transfer target for 2020, even ahead of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Mbappe scored 39 goals and contributed 17 assists in all competitions for PSG last season and has already scored twice in the current campaign.

However, Mbappe will be sidelined for a month after suffering a tear in his thigh during a recent Ligue 1 match against Toulouse.

Reports in Spain suggest Zidane has already convinced his compatriot to come to the Bernabeu and the Real fans also seem keen – they chanted Mbappe’s name at the unveiling of Eden Hazard.

Mbappe’s contract at the Parc des Princes expires in 2022 and he has been reluctant to sign an improved new deal with the French club.
