Van Dijk has talked about Messi and Ronaldo after winning the UEFA’S Men’s Player of the Season award.
Although he beats Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to win the UEFA’S Men’s Player of the Season award, Van Dijk remains modest.
“You can’t even compare me to them,” he says.
“But I did have a good season.
“I am happy to see that UEFA has once opted for a defender. For me and other defenders that is a kind of recognition.
Also, the Dutch national team coach Ronald Koeman has made a bow to Van Dijk, who has won the UEFA’S Men’s Player of the Season award.
“But I said he had to stand up” Van Dijk laughed when he saw the Dutch coach make a bow to him.
“He also had a big role in that prize, just like all the players from the Netherlands and Liverpool.
“In the end, we all won that prize. Someone has to pick it up and that is just a coincidence.” said the Dutch defender.
