Maguire set to become Man Utd’s third signing as deal reaches ‘final stages’

Harry Maguire is set to become Manchester United’s third signing of the summer, with a deal for the Leicester star reportedly in the ‘final stages’.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, United’s deal for Maguire is in the ‘closing stages’, with Leicester respecting the centre-back’s wish to secure a move to Old Trafford.

Maguire has been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s number one defensive target since the start of the summer and United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has been in discussions over an £80million move for the 26-year-old.

This would make Maguire the most expensive defender of all time, exceeding the world-record £75m fee Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk back in January 2018.
