Griezmann transfer saga to finally end

The Antoine Griezmann saga has taken another unexpected twist, with fresh reports suggesting Barcelona will complete a move for the Atletico Madrid forward on July 1st, the date his €120 million release clause kicks in.

Barcelona are believed to have agreed terms with the Frenchman close to two months ago, but are waiting for the reduced release clause to come into effect.

Griezmann had informed Atletico Madrid of his desire to leave the club at the end of the season and has since been on the lookout for his next destination.

A number of top clubs expressed their interest in signing the World Cup winner, but it appears Barcelona have stolen a march on their rivals and will complete a move for the former Real Sociedad star next month.
