Former Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli called Maurizio Sarri’s appointment “heinous” and hopes he “doesn’t go looking for excuses like he did at Napoli.”
The decision to hire the ex-Chelsea boss was finally confirmed on Sunday afternoon after weeks of speculation.
He will be presented to the media in Turin on Thursday at 10.00 UK time (09.00 GMT).
“As a fan, I hoped this heinous event would not happen,” Cobolli Gigli told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“Sarrismo was strong at Napoli, but I have a good memory and I recall everything he said and did with regards to Juventus.
“Now the deed is done, we have to judge Sarri on his actions. As a Coach and in terms of the quality of his football, he is beyond reproach. I didn’t mind Max Allegri’s style, but it will certainly be different now.
“I will put Sarri to the test and hope that he learns to communicate like a Juventus Coach and not in his usual manner. I hope he has the right style, even when he’ll have to admit the team did not play well, and not go looking for excuses the way he did at Napoli.”
