Luka Jovic completed his long-awaited move to Real Madrid on Tuesday, and the Serbian celebrated the transfer by uploading a photo to Instagram.
The 21-year-old had a breakout season at Eintracht Frankfurt in 2018/19, which has culminated in him making the switch to Los Blancos.
Not only does joining Madrid mean that there will be a leap in terms of quality, but it will also see a player’s media profile expand exponentially.
Until Tuesday, for instance, Jovic had a respectable number of followers on Instagram: 470,000. After the confirmation that he would be joining Madrid, which came around 13:00 CET, that number rose sharply and by 21:55 CET on Tuesday, he had 727,000.
The striker refrained from commenting on his upcoming move by uploading a post, so Madrid fans have instead bombarded his latest photo – an image from his holiday in Hong Kong on May 26 – with likes and comments welcoming him to the club.
