Fede Valverde has welcomed the prospect of Eden Hazard and Kylian Mbappe joining Real Madrid this summer.
The 20-year-old midfielder is away with the Uruguay squad as they prepare for the Copa America in Brazil, which starts later this month.
“If these kind of players [Hazard and Mbappe] arrive, it would be nothing but a joy,” Valverde told the press in Montevideo.
“I think they’re good players and we have to take advantage of them.
“They’ve had good seasons with their clubs [Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain respectively] and if they end up coming, let’s hope it’s for the best.”
Valverde has been given plenty of opportunities since the return of Zinedine Zidane as Real Madrid boss and the youngster believes that the Frenchman trusts him.
“[Zidane] gave me lots of strength and motivation for the last few matches to show that I’m capable of being at Madrid,” he said.
“He’s given me advice on lots of things, he’s helped me since I arrived.”
Much of the damage was done before Zidane returned as Los Blancos saw their hopes of winning silverware virtually end under Santiago Solari.
“We fought for a lot and didn’t win anything, but personally I think I improved a lot on and off the pitch,” Valverde said.
Valverde also revealed the support that fellow midfielder Casemiro has given him during their time together at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I always highlight Casemiro, who was the one that helped me the most when I joined the [first] team,” he noted
“It served me well and I feel on a par with everyone.”
