Ramos told Perez he was ‘seriously considering summer move’ a fortnight ago

The news that Sergio Ramos is considering his Real Madrid future has come as little surprise to president Florentino Perez, who met with the club captain 15 days ago.

In a meeting at Ramos’ house which also featured his brother and agent Rene as well as the player’s father, the 33-year-old told Perez that he was seriously considering a summer move.

The meeting ended with a one-on-one conversation between captain and president, where Ramos explained clearly to Perez his doubts over continuing next season.

Once the meeting ended, the two parties agreed to continue talks in the following days in order to analyse what is the best decision for both parties.

Coach Zinedine Zidane still trusts Sergio Ramos and, until two weeks ago, nobody at Real Madrid believed that the captain, with a contract until June 2021, could leave the club this summer.
