Barca will finish at least record 18 pts ahead of Real Madrid in LaLiga

Real Madrid’s latest defeat, this time at home against Real Betis, means they are further behind FC Barcelona – in terms of point totals – in LaLiga than ever before. Ahead of Barça’s match against Eibar this afternoon, the difference stands at 18 points, meaning it’s one higher than last season’s previous record.

Last season’s 17-point gap matched that of the 1984/85 season, although this was when victories were worth only two points.

If Barcelona draw or beat Eibar today that point difference could be extended to 19 or 21. Once again showing how dominant Barça have been under Ernesto Valverde in the league.
