UEFA’s Disciplinary Committee have fined Barcelona 20,000 euros for failing to organise their Champions League group stage match with Tottenham Hotspur on December 11 in an acceptable manner.
The sanction follows article 11 (1) in the disciplinary regulations of “insufficient organisation”.
“The member associations, just like the clubs and their players, officials and members, and everyone assigned by UEFA, have to respect the rules of the game, the UEFA regulations, managers and decisions and fulfil the principles of ethical conduct, loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship,” this article states.
Ajax have been fined 52,500 euros for throwing objects and further crowd incidents in their quarter-final with Juventus on April 10.
Tottenham have been fined 10,000 euros for improper conduct of their officials and their coach in the match against Ajax on April 30. Mauricio Pochettino has been given a one-match suspension for delaying the start of the game, but the sanction is suspended for one year.
