Matthijs de Ligt has put Barcelona move on hold, Mundo Deportivo reports. The Dutch defender is going to leave Ajax at the end of the season but he hasn’t taken a decision about his next club yet.

Barcelona directors traveled to Amsterdam last weekend to discuss his possible transfer to the Nou Camp but an agreement between the club and the player has not been found yet.

Ajax and Barcelona, on the other hand, have a principle of agreement in the region of € 75 million.

According to Mundo Deportivo, however, the player is still unsure about joining Barcelona mainly because of their technical guarantees.

De Ligt is not sure to be a regular starter at the Nou Camp, unlikely his team-mate Frankie de Jong who is going to join the Blaugrana in the summer.

Meantime Juve are still monitoring the situation even if Ajax’s general manager Edwin van der Saar has recently said that the future of the player will be in Germany or Spain. The Old Lady remains interested and a deal is possible as De Ligt hasn’t chosen his future yet.
