Bale eager to bid farewell to the Bernabeu this weekend, but it’s down to Zidane

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale is eager to bid farewell to the club’s supporters by playing against Real Betis on Sunday in what will likely be his last game as a Los Blancos player.

As many as 30,000 supporters welcomed him in his presentation at the Santiago Bernabeu on September 3, 2013, and the Welshman wouldn’t want to say goodbye to them from the stands.

Zinedine Zidane hasn’t included Bale in his matchday squad for the last two games, against Villarreal and Real Sociedad, and it will once again be down to the Frenchman to decide if the 29-year-old will feature in the clash with Los Verdiblancos.

“I make decisions and it’s clear what I’ve done this weekend,” Zidane said during press conference after the 3-1 defeat at La Real.

“We will see about next week and next season.”
