“The price tag for Griezmann is too much and Barca’s fans don’t want him”

Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has expressed his unease with the potential arrival of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann at the Camp Nou.

Laporta has indicated that the Frenchman is overpriced, and that the Catalan club’s supporters do not approve of his move to Barcelona.

“I think that most of the fans don’t want him and also, because of his price tag, which I think is exaggerated,” said Laporta.

“I think there are other players with a great impact that could perfectly do what Griezmann can do at Barcelona.

“If he comes we, all the Catalans will be the first to encourage him, as has happened with all the players who have come.”

A few days ago, Laporta claimed that he is willing to run to once again become Barcelona president, with elections provisionally scheduled for 2021.
