VAR to be moved to mobile units outside four stadiums for the 37th round

Mobile units will be set up outside Anoeta, the Camp Nou, the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano and the Estadio Butarque to facilitate the use of the VAR in the penultimate LaLiga Santander matchday.

Real Sociedad’s game against Real Madrid, Barcelona’s against Getafe, Atletico Madrid’s against Sevilla and Leganes’ against Espanyol will be the four fixtures supervised by the VAR mobile units.

All 10 games are set to kick off at 18:30 CET on Sunday and there are only eight VAR rooms at the Spanish FA’s Las Rozas headquarters.

The first time a mobile unit was used for a Spanish fixture was back on August 12, 2018, in Tangier, where Barcelona faced Sevilla for the Supercopa de Espana.

These kinds of units also operated in January, when Valencia faced Sporting Gijon in the Copa del Rey round of 16.
