Barcelona do a three-peat… for bottling a first-leg lead in the UCL

Barcelona have bottled their first-leg lead to be knocked out of Champions League for three seasons in a row.

The Catalan club blew away a three-goal lead at Anfield as Liverpool beat them 4-0 to reach the final.

One year ago, Roma finished a 3-0 comeback to beat Barcelona 4-4 on away goals in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Winding the clock back for another year, it was Atletico Madrid who knocked Barcelona out with a 2-0 victory at home, winning the tie 3-2 on aggregate.
