Man City ‘in talks with Sporting Lisbon over £42m deal’

Manchester City are in talks with Sporting Lisbon over a £42million deal for Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Talks are progressing over the move, which would also see Colombian forward Marlos Moreno go the other way.

City have concerns over whether or not Ilkay Gundogan will commit his future to the club while there is also interest in David Silva from Japan.

Fernandes has caught the eye of a number of clubs this season, including City’s arch-rivals Manchester United.

The 24-year-old has made 50 appearances in all competitions this term, contributing 31 goals and 16 assists.

City are also still among clubs in for forward Joao Felix at Benfica while they are also on the search for a defensive midfielder to cover for Fernandinho.

Rodri at Atletico Madrid’s Rodri, Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele and Benfica’s Florentino are among the names that have been discussed.
