Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stepped up his pursuit of Moussa Dembele – and has made Lyon aware of his interest.
Mirror Football revealed last month that the Premier League club were keeping tabs on the striker, who arrived at Lyon from Celtic last summer.
United are desperate to improve their striking options this summer and 22-year-old Dembele has been hugely impressive in France this season.
Dembele has scored 20 goals in all competitions and his work rate and prolific scoring record for the minutes played this season has caught the eye of scouts.
And L’Equipe have claimed that United chiefs have made contact with the French giants over the possibility of signing the striker this summer.
Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku’s future could be uncertain and United may be looking to improve their forward line this summer.
Lyon are aware of strong interest from the Premier League and know they will face a battle to keep their France international star.
