Trophy-chasing Pogba does not want to spend prime years at Man Utd

According to Independent, Paul Pogba wants out of Manchester United this summer and is “very keen” to push through a move to Real Madrid.

The French star has been a subject of controversy this season, with the club ultimately backing him over sacked manager Jose Mourinho, but sources say he is now desperate to leave.

For Pogba’s part, some close to the player say that one of his primary concerns is United’s inability to challenge for the league, and how that does not look likely in the near future.

One of the reasons he initially went back in the summer of 2016 was because it felt like they could be on the brink of a challenge, and the 26-year-old does not want to spend his prime years waiting.

On the other side, United may now be more open to a sale than previously.

While their official line is that Pogba is off-limits, there is a belief that a bid of over £130m could be enough to persuade them, especially since the French star’s marketing value has not been quite as stellar as anticipated.

While Pogba remains central to their commercial strategy and has been productive on social media campaigns, he has been overtaken by international teammates like Kylian Mbappe.

Pogba is high up on Madrid’s list of targets as they plan to overhaul their side, with Zinedine Zidane a huge fan of the midfielder.

Pogba did come close to joining both Barcelona and Real Madrid in 2016, but neither would pay the required figures, either in fee or wages.
